They do seem the same to me, but apparently not.. 2) THE IMPORTANT ONE - the focal plane is further behind a T2 mount. This means, if you put an M42 lens on a T2 mount adaptor, you will majorly lose infinity. You can focus close up, but not to infinity, or anywhere near.
